kwikphilly Posted October 27, 2013 Group: Worthy Ministers Followers: 96 Topic Count: 307 Topics Per Day: 0.08 Content Count: 18,136 Content Per Day: 4.63 Reputation: 27,816 Days Won: 327 Joined: 08/03/2013 Status: Offline Share Posted October 27, 2013 Blessings Everyone, I believe you said it all Gray Wolf ...Where should one look to see the image of Christ if not in His followers?And then the beautiful quote from the 12th Chapter in the Book of Romans posted by TreetopFlyer where Paul is inspired by God to literally give us instruction on how we should display that image.....these are the things we must meditate on,things above & not below....we are set apart,Holy,and should always pray for the heart & mind of Christ to show the world that though we are in this world,we are not of it......and for each other ,our brethren,to encourage & extol, If the question is,am I a nice person......yes,in Christ and glory to God......................without Him this was not so.Many people have said that they were a nice person before they were a Christian and I think that is wonderful but that was not so with me...if I do a ruthlessly honest self examination then I must say that I was selfish,prideful,vain,a liar,a cheat,a thief amongst other things & that was not very "nice"...just because I smiled & was well liked & polite,did not mean I was nice The Holy Spirit guides me in my daily walk & as long as I follow His promptings then I am so happy to say that I am nice........ Jesus said, "In everything, do to others what you would have them do to you". I will say at 47 yrs old and have lived most my life with always speaking kindness and showing respect even if it isn't given back or shown from others, I have seen my own faults with these challenges. Life does get busy and so many are rushing and people will cut you off in traffic, and not to say I haven't cut someone off with my driving, because I know I have without even thinking and later it does sit on my conscience, as I do ask the Lord for forgiveness to help me to be more mindful of people. When I talk to someone, I choose the very same words that I would use if Jesus were looking over my shoulder because He is. There are times I also find my courage tested to the limit, God is always near and always remember that God rules both mountaintops and valleys. I do think we all get stuck looking thru our own perspective. A badge the Pharisees wore was you had to be good then you don't need God. Actually, we are all broken. In Mark 2 it talks about Jesus came to invite the sinners. God extends His grace ad mercy to us. So, yes I am a nice person, I know who I am in Jesus.
