Public Health in the Bible?

The priests and Levites set the pace for the establishment of national health policy in Israel under a Theocracy. Prevention of disease has biblical undertones.

Rooted in a theocracy though. The US is not a theocracy.

Most countries, including the us, have public health policies in place that are geared to prevention of disease.

I don't know what the OP has in mind, but here's a few things I realized.

At least SOME of the animals God declared as unclean, and not good for food, are animals who's meat needs special preparation so we don't get sick. Pork is like that, and poultry has to be thoroughly cooked. I know there's more too, I just don't recall them.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. Proverbs 3:5-8

Perhaps AnchorRock is referring to the laws in Leviticus  chapter 12-15, along with God's promise:

And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and will do that which is right in His sight, and wilt give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I Am the LORD that healeth thee.

Exodus 15:26
