It appears from what I read of modern genetics that we are about to start doing so again. It may well be that what some call evolution were simply genetic engineering that was not sanctioned by God. Thus they didn't get invitations to the boat. You may disagree but it makes a lot more sense to me than macro evolution. You may not give any credence to these books but many of the early church fathers did for they either said so or quoted from them in their writings.
