What are your favorite books with regard to Christianity (aside from the Bible)? I have enjoyed some CS Lewis writings a lot. Now I am curious to see what people enjoy, particularly with regards to stuff touching on theology and philosophy, biblical interpretation and the like.

There are three books that I have found the most encouraging. They are by Dr.Ron Mehl.He was a Pastor at a large Church in Beaverton Oregon. He died of Leukemia in 1995.

1) Surprise Endings

2) God Works the Night Shift

3) The Tender Commandments.

Philip Yancey is a good author, I think.

Michael Card, while better known for his music, has also written some deep and insightful theological books.

I think I am going to stop reading for a year after this book and turn to NetFlix.......     give my mind a rest...

Nine seasons of X Files is starting to look pretty good.
