Pope's message fullfills prophecy?

In Matthew 13, Jesus Christ upset the applecart.

 

He basically told the religious Jews they got it all wrong. His exposition on Torah (Matthew chapters 5-7) where he contrasted how rabbinical sages interpreted Torah with how God intended Torah to condemn and not save while pointing to him who could save out of sheer mercy (2 Corinthians 3:6 / Galatians 3:24-25). It's not about religion at all. God gave the Old Covenant as the religion God would accept but no one (save Jesus) could ever keep the Law completely... if for no other reason that we are born in sin and he was virgin born.

 

Jesus spoke of the satanic infiltration into Judaism (Matthew 13:28). The infiltration in the Jewish leadership was most instrumental in preventing the Jews from believing in their Messiah Y'shua (Jesus). After all they were in the seat of Moses which God originally sanctified. The persecution of the early Church by these leaders was picked up later by the Romans. The effect was to separate Jewish people from Christ by several generations. An almost irreversible tactic. "this is the way we've done it since my grandfather's grandfather was is diapers..."  

 

Then one day a Roman Emperor got the idea that the way to deal with his crumbling empire (that needed two Capitols) was to legalize Christianity.  The Romans had persecuted Christians in the worst ways... but somehow there was a cohesiveness in Christianity his Empire sorely lacked. I do not know if the plans of Emperor Constantine and his Mommy went any further than setting Christianity up as the Religion of State... but their efforts lead eventually to the transformation of the Roman Empire into the Roman Catholic Empire (the Holy Roman Empire that unbeknownst to scholars never did go into hibernation as many of them teach).

 

Think about it.

 

The Catholic capital city is still Rome.

 

Emperor / Pope

 

Senate / Cardinals

 

Regional Governors / Bishops

 

etc.

 

And its structure is that it is the go between for Christians to get to God rather than the direct relationship with God Christians truly have. And Catholicism imposed the Old Covenant division (clergy / laity) on New Covenant believers hamstringing the evangelical spreading of the true Gospel...

 

Again, the Protestant movement did little to no changes in the basic organization structure and is essentially Roman Catholic Lite, with the older denominations appearing almost exactly like Roman Catholicism in structure and practice.

 

 

This is NOT to say dump everything and build your own (improved) version as so many cultists set out to do. This IS to say be ye informed and the only way to do this is through extensive Bible study with the Holy Spirit as your Tutor. DO what the Bible says. And you will discover your spiritual gifts and calling into that ministry which is uniquely your own. Your priesthood in other words with Christ Jesus as our only High Priest. Then as members of the Body Christian grow into their priesthood, the Church will again be the infectious global evangelism mechanism it was in the beginning... and not just another world religion.
