Go read the book silent thunder. They are sentient beings. We still don't know anything about the cetaceans yet! Although we think we do. They have a language as complex, if not more so than ours. We are only just beginning to understand some of it. Hey a humble cuttlefish shows more emotion (and visual language) in a 30 second interaction than we do in a month. The jury is still out for me when it comes to animals and feelings and souls and language and memory. We just don't know enough yet and just because the bible does not tell us does not mean its not there.
