Did Abraham worship idols ?

Is it assumptive or do we have facts ?

I thought he did, just because I thought I heard that he did or read it somewhere.

I haven't as for now have found it in the scriptures, unless assuming.

It seem to read he was 75 years old when God called him and Abram believed.

Laban and Rachel seem interested in images, Laban's Gods.(Abraham nephew)Gen.31

Rebekah was Laban sister, Isaac's wife.

What information do you have on this ?

I don't know if Abraham worshipped idols or not, but I do know this. When God called him, he knew that the real God was speaking to him. What he did before that is irrelevant. I think it's possible that many people worshipped idols. I used to, but I didn't know it at the time.

I found this article informative. It intimates that Abraham did not - in fact - worship idols but believed in GOD, even as a child.

Interesting.

Parker, thank you so much for passing this along. It is indeed interesting, as Oak noted. This makes me want study more on this subject.

I just found it.

I thought I read it somewhere.

Joshua 24:2-3

2 And Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel,

Your fathers dwelt on the other side of the flood in old time,

even Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nachor: and they served other gods.

3 And I took your father Abraham from the other side of the flood,

and led him throughout all the land of Canaan, and multiplied his seed, and gave him Isaac.

this article is almost word for word from the book of Abraham; the book has much more and even though

I ve tried to discuss it here; very few have an interest in it because it was not included in the Bible. You could say its good historical value though. and a good read. also a good read in book of jasher witch is mentioned in the Bible. 2Sam 1:18

My apologies for a my above post it was not the book of Abraham it was in the book of Jasher chap 8

sorry for bad memory of mine.

Not to mention because it was written by Joseph Smith, the founder of Mormonism.
