When God called him, he knew that the real God was speaking to him. What he did before that is irrelevant. I think it's possible that many people worshipped idols. It intimates that Abraham did not - in fact - worship idols but believed in GOD, even as a child. this article is almost word for word from the book of Abraham; the book has much more and even though I ve tried to discuss it here; very few have an interest in it because it was not included in the Bible. You could say its good historical value though. and a good read. also a good read in book of jasher witch is mentioned in the Bible. 2Sam 1:18 My apologies for a my above post it was not the book of Abraham it was in the book of Jasher chap 8 sorry for bad memory of mine.
