Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit

Recommended Posts

I know, another one of these posts. But there's a twist. I want to know if you have ever spoke aloud against the Holy Spirit, and have since experienced something particular where you knew God forgave you. I do not want to know if you ever had an accidental thought, but if you actually spoke something aloud against the Spirit -- be it through cursing the Spirit, blaming the Spirit for something, etc. And specifically the Holy Spirit.

Please only reply if you have an experience like this. I do not wish to discuss what you think the unpardonable sin is, I just want to know about experiences, if there are any. Please PM me if you don't want to post. Thanks.

Okay, so here's the thing, I know for a fact this post is going to push a few buttons as I know there is bound to be at least one person who is a member at this church who will see this.
Firstly, let me start off by saying that I do not know how to test the spirits as yet and therefore I am unable to tell whether or not someone is a false prophet and so, therefore, I always conduct a google search to do a background check on the "preacher" in question - I've only recently started doing this. I think highly of Joyce Meyer but according to research, she's a false prophet. I wouldn't say I follow the teaching of Steve Furtick as I have yet to listen to one of his messages but I love, love, love Elevation Worship. According to research, he is a false prophet.
I have seen online that Pastor Furtick is a big fan of rock music and it shows in his ministry, his church does look a lot like a concert venue. It just makes me question if I am in the wrong for listening and worshipping to the music of Elevation Worship. I have their songs fullness, give me faith, the King is among us and resurrecting on repeat, with a strong love for a couple others.
ANOTHER EXAMPLE: Charlotte Gambill of Life Church, Bradford, UK
I remember my first encounter with Charlotte's message, it was at a women's conference hosted by a popular UK Christian organisation called Premier. I loved her message and went on to attend Charlotte's own women conference several months later with empowering and uplifting messages, there was a couple of secular songs played but not half as much as I heard when I attended her conference this year. I guess I didn't hear as much secular music as I attended her conference myself this year and was always on time to hear the word, in comparison to last year when I went with a friend and we were always late. This year, music from the likes of Beyonce, Pharrell Williams etc. was played and I looked around thinking that I couldn't possibly be the only person to disagree with what was going on? Secular music at a Christian conference?
I wasn't as bothered last year as I wasn't so grounded in the word and in my faith as yet but my present church has taught me how vital it is to not participate in listening and singing secular music. I guess 1 Corinthians 10:31 confirms why, "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." The issue is I love their worship team too, not half as much as I do Elevation Worship but that's beside the point.
Honestly, I don't know why I even bothered to write this post. I know it's wrong to continue listening to a worship team led by a wolf in sheep's clothing. I guess like things of the world it's hard to pull away from something damaging to your spiritual walk, even more so actually. I just thought I would share my viewpoint with you all.
      God bless you all,

pssssst!     Here’s a little secret....I don’t “want” to sin. It was a by-product of believing Paul’s Gospel. This post probably was not as juicy as some had hoped and for that I apologize.

The blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is known to be the unforgivable sin.
Question: But what is the only sin that cannot be forgiven?
Answer: It is the sin of not believing in the truth of the gospel. And consequently not receiving it.
From the Holy Spirit comes absolute truth, all things that are said by the Holy Spirit are truth, ALWAYS.
The Holy Spirit only produces good fruits, ONLY good fruits.
"This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you,
that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all." - 1 John 1:5
"For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one." - 1 John 5:7
The gospel of Jesus Christ is the love of the truth that saves all those who believe.
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of
God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek." - Romans 1:16
"Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth." - John 17:17
The only reason for someone to resist and do not repent of his evil ways is: To love darkness rather than light.
"The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan,
with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception
among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth,
that they might be saved." - 2 Thessalonians 2:10
All those who did not receive the love of the truth, that is the gospel of Jesus Christ will not receive forgiveness of sins.
The first step is the person must repent, in truth, according to the gospel.
"and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached
in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem." - Luke 24:47
"...unless you repent you will all likewise perish." - Luke 13:5
"But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves." - James 1:22
The condemnation for the sin of blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is eternal.
The condemnation for the rejection of the truth presented in the gospel of Jesus Christ is eternal.
"but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never
has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation" - Mark 3:29
      "He who believes and is baptized will be saved;
but he who does not believe will be condemned." - Mark 16:16
"And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world,
and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." - John 3:19
Jesus said that all sin will be forgiven men, except the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.
"but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him,
either in this age or in the age to come." - Matthew 12:32
This is speaking against the truth, in this case, the gospel of Jesus Christ.
      "the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him;
but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you." - John 14:17
Because if anyone does not receive the truth of the gospel they will be condemned, and it is a sin.
      "He who believes and is baptized will be saved;
but he who does not believe will be condemned." - Mark 16:16
And all sin will be forgiven, except the sin of blasphemy of the Holy Spirit... Which means it is talking about the same sin.
"Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter
but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation" - Mark 3:28-29
"He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar,
because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son." - 1 John 5:10
The hardest thing for the people to do is to repent of their evil ways and to embrace the truth of the gospel.
"Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth." - John 17:17
This is only possible through love, which means that only God can make the person to repent, in deed and in truth.
"No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day." - John 6:44
"He who does not love does not know God, for God is love." - 1 John 4:8
And we all know Satan has produced several counterfeit of the gospel of Jesus Christ that has no effect of the truth in the person's life.
And this is very dangerous, because the person does not accept truth and as a result is never sanctified through it.
They believed a lie that at the end will not save them.
People must enter through the narrow gate of truth. It is the only way that actually saves.
"Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the
way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it." - Matthew 7:13
"Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." - John 14:6
Yes, many will reject the love of the truth... Many will believe a lie, many will be deceived.
"Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’
shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord,
have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’
And then I will declare to them,
‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’" - Matthew 7:21-24

For this reason: Make sure you have believed and received The Truth. Otherwise, The Truth will tell you: I never knew you.

And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
      (Gen 3:8-10)
Sin has many detrimental effects, but here I will touch just on one of many, and probably one of the worst...HIDING FROM GOD.
They hid themselves from God's presence among the trees of the Garden. How interesting, the very thing they used to hide from God's presence, years later, God uses to open up the way back into His presence.
His voice, crying out “Adam, where are you?” was the very thing they hid from. Why? Sin had turned sweet fellowship with a loving God to a dreaded confrontation with an offended Being. Sin had twisted their perception of the character of God as one to dread and hide from rather than one who was willing to atone, reconcile and forgive.
God, in Jesus, has opened up that way on the Tree, and calls to all mankind “Adam, where are you?”
He has made the Sacrifice Himself and bids us to that sweet communion with Him, yet sin often breaks that fellowship and we once again grab our fig leaves hiding amongst the trees the world offers rather than God's Tree. He continually bids us to come into fellowship robed in the Righteousness of Jesus Christ and not our own.

Dear Lord, in Jesus Christ's name I pray.   Welcome Holy Spirit, embody this nation, government and military. God bless Donald Trump, keep him protected, helped and leading your nation strong and free. God bless Justin Trudeau, bend his will to yours, humble him and teach him what he needs to know of You. Thank you Lord for the peace talks in Korea! This is an appreciated answer to so many pleading prayers! We pray for the same peace and understanding in Cameroon, please have mercy and save its people. Please forgive us of all our sins. Especially excuse evil where we oppose, mock and vilify You. Please Lord, we know not what we do. Bless and revive us Lord, thy kingdom come. Put us through the painful process of cleansing this world, nation, generation and church of backsliding, sleepiness, enemies within, blasphemy, watering down of God's truth, word and law. Prune and throw such chaff into the lake of fire. Have us accept and cherish your free gift of salvation and eternal life immediately through your Son's sacrifice in place of our sin debt. May we all pray for this in our life now! Heal, restore and revive your body of Christ saved to do good works in the Lord. May we be light, salt and disciples to this desperate world. Hallelujah, he is risen, he is risen indeed!   I pray this sincerely for all lost, enemies and loved ones in Jesus Christ's name, amen!   GregoryB
