We lived quite close to Mt.St Helens at the time.My son was 6 months old.We were going to Jantzen Beach shopping mall.Everyone was stopped along the street looking at it.It looked like a nuclear blast. There was a mushroom cloud that went miles into the air.We were sweeping up dust for a long time.

A couple of days after that I was in the tub and it started to move.I told my husband "You know I think the bathtub is moving. He said "Oookkkk"    .Well, shortly after that we turned on the news and indeed we had an earth quake that was a little over a 5.

I live even closer now.If it erupted I would be quite concerned.

Oops. I was thinking 1981...

actually I was in the Med after Persian Gulf tour doing the hostage crisis (November 1979 through February 1980) then we went to the Mediterranean so I was probably in Italy or Spain at the time.
