Okay, now I realise that the most important thing is salvation but let's ignore that for a moment.

Even in our current lives we need God. God made us in a certain way and when we go against that we'll never be happy, not really anyway.

Without God in our lives we are easily deceived, we fall prey to lies and conspiracies and we get confused.

Take a look at the World around you, the wars, the cruelty and the chaos. Then take a look at all the economists, politicians, academics, journalists and intellectuals trying to offer explanations for what is going on. See how they scratch their heads as they get together in their think tanks and then after some thought, they reach a conclusion, pat each other on the back, and release their findings to the World.

Sometimes they're half-right but usually they're not even that.

When you have the Holy Spirit the World becomes a lot clearer. It starts to make sense (in a nonsensical sort of way, of course). We're in a battleground. There's a war going on between good and evil and we can spot it. It can be distressing for us but it's less frustrating because we understand it. Those without faith are just clutching at straws trying to find the answers. We can make some sort of sense out of our lives because we know that Jesus has our back and we know how it's all going to end. Have you noticed that Christians are some of the happiest people you'll ever meet?

God is not just giving us salvation, he's also trying to show us that we need him and that without his guidance we're just going to keep stumbling into walls. This cruel hard World has never made more sense to me than now and since when I became a believer.

If the whole World is a documentary, then I feel like Christians are the silent narrators who are telling the story because we're the only ones who have the benefit of a script. It may be an incomplete script but it's a script nevertheless.

Unfortunately we are silent narrators because not many people want to listen to us.

Matthew 5:13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.

14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
