Ezekiel 16:49 49 “‘Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. Everyone thinks it was homosexuality alone but that is a myth. I don't think god is fond of gluttony much either from that verse. God hates homosexuality and calls it an abomination. Homosexuality is becoming a real problem today in our country, more so than every before. Homosexuals need to be delivered from that disgusting and perverse lifestyle. I couldn't find any reference in the surrounding verses in ezekiel to sex sin which is strange considering what we all think first about sodom and Gomorrah. Yes and so do liars, porn addicts, smokers, alcoholics, etc. They all need deliverance from their sins. But homosexuality stands in a category all its own given that it has even more destructive effect on society than smoking or drinking. The homosexual agenda is a direct assault on the family institution that God started and in the US they are trying redefine marriage and usurp God's authority over marriage. Most people are not gay so are not guilty of that sin and would never be, but so many are guilty of all the others that are tearing our society apart and it gets ignored. I dont understand this fixation on gays while Greed is rampant and television teaches our kids to lie and tempts them into atheism pornography and idolatry as well as Anti Christian thinking. Why isn't there action on about that stuff instead of such a fixation on gays (2-4% of the population apparently doing everything and causing everything)? Why doesn't my church and forums protest Alcohol, smoking, nightclubs, consumerism,TV, fast food chains, advertising companies, media lies and excess because thats why our kids stopped wanting to go to church and dont want to. It is not the only contributing factor but it is a major contributing factor. It is unnatural and abnormal. It should not be legitimized by giving the gays the freedom to marry. It was after the entire city surrounded Lot's home to try to force the angels into homosexual acts that the judgment came. My reference to those cities was more about the number of people involved in the sin. It was how the sin had spread to well above 5 percent of the population. The big difference between homosexuality in America and other sins is that this sin is protected and lifted up. Where do you see people divided over whether or not adultery is ok? How about murder. except for abortion? How about bank robbery? When was the last parade for shop lifters, with their claims that they can't help stealing as that is who they are? Homosexuals take pride in their deviant lifestyle. Shiloh mentioned people addicted to alcohol and porn. How many people celebrate those things? Not many, and certainly not in the church. Those sins come with shame. That to me is the difference. If homosexuals were treated like all other sinners, and they acknowledged doing wrong and sought God's grace, or at least went to support groups to stop their sin, it would be looked at different. Well said, and that is really the entire point. Homosexuals are a bigger focus for Christians, not because of bigotry, but because the sin of homosexuality is turning into iniquity. I'm not 100% sure of the definition of iniquity, but my own definition states that iniquity is society's acceptance, normalisation and even approval of a sin. Iniquity is when a sin is no longer labelled as a sin and starts to destroy the very fabric of society from within. All Christian societies have tolerated sins to a greater or lesser extent, not because of hypocrisy, but because of practicality and the belief in man's free will. But these sins were hidden underground in order to keep them from corrupting others. Sodomites were often left alone as long as they kept their lifestyle to themselves. After all, their sin was between themselves and God and not for any man to judge. Today things are different. Homosexuals are asked to be proud of who they are. They are exalted and given privileges. We are meant to give their lifestyles our blessings, without criticism and without dispute. Homosexuals demand to marry, they demand the right to adopt children and they demand that their practises be taught in school sex-education classes. See Romans 1... The CHOICES: Surpression of truth. See Romans 1:18 Dishonoring and not thanking God which leads to futile thinking. See Romans 1:21 Called wisdom foolishness and foolishness wisdom. See Romans 1:22 Replaced God and instead chose idols. See Romans 1:23 The CONSEQUENCES: Lusting in their hearts... serving themselves and their own desire. See Romans 1:25What did it look like? Women gave up the natural (marriage between a man and a woman) for the unnatural (homosexuality). See Romans 1:26 Men too gave up the natural (marriage between a man and a woman) for the unnatural (homosexuality) and recieved a penalty (possibly sicknesses?) for their error. See Romans 1:27 Further CONSEQUENCES: This resulted further in all other forms of sin - unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. See Romans 1:28 They became full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. And also hey are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, and ruthless.
