Guest shiloh357
I've been pondering the below for a little while. On the outside, it seems like a simple thing, but believe there is much depth in it. To be sure I'm thinking properly, I post this to you for testing and critiquing. Here are a few questions I'm asking myself: Is this sound biblical thinking? Can this be backed up with scripture? Can a successful life-walk with God be "wrapped up" in such a simple outline? Are there any ingredients missing? If so, what is/are they? How would you answer the questions above, from the thoughts below? =============================================== The spirit of God is planted as a seed in one's heart (born again?). The seed grows as it is watered and fed by: reading God's word, the bible. prayer. contemplation on the bible. applying bible to my own life. faith (obedience, ) assembling with brothers and sisters Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, soul, mind and strength. Love thy neighbor as thyself The Flesh grows. The Flesh dies. The spirit (product of the seed) is the incorruption and lives forever. The Spirit of God is not a "seed." He is a Person and He doesn't need to be watered or grow. In the Bible, the Scriptures are the seed that need to be planted and watered in us. Check this out: Mar 4:4 KJV - And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.Mar 4:15 KJV - And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. For each type of soil and seed planting, Christ explains the meaning of the parable. I've never picked this up before, but Christ here makes a metaphor between the fowls of the air, and Satan. His food is doing the Lords work. I do believe that we need to feed our spirits and Gods work is how we do this. Dedicating your life to God to spread the good news and to open peoples hearts renews your own heart. What you give you get back in generous proportion.
