Hi tevans9129,

I totally agree with your stand that Matt. 24 is for Israel. Many people look at the Bible as all about ME but actually it is written about the Lord Jesus Christ & His purposes. The Bible becomes a big muddle when we read it all about us, instead of learning about our Lord. We can learn from seeing what God is doing with others but it is NOT all about US.

It`s like reading a story in the newspaper when some one has won some money, then saying to your friends `Oh, I just won the lottery.` When we read the gospels we are reading what Jesus, Israel`s Messiah is saying to them & what will happen to them before He comes to deliver them. The message the disciples would eventually tell the Body of Christ, (when they learnt about it, the B/C through the Apostle Paul,) would be to tell the believers what Jesus said would happen to the people of Israel.

Very good, tevan.

Matthew 24:29-30King James Version (KJV)

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Why not the Jews alone mourn if only matthew 24 is for the Jews ?

Another fact of proof that Matt.24, Mark 13, and Luke 21 is for His Church is how Jesus was covering the events of the 6th seals of Rev.6 in His Olivet Discourse all the way up to His second coming. Afterall, who did Jesus tell John to take His Revelation to? To the seven Churches in Asia (Asia-Minor).

It's surprising how some allow their selves to be so easily dissuaded from the simplicity of this, but that's what listening to men's doctrines will do.

The green part sounds good......   the red part isn't necessary and is very divisive

I guess you're right, it would sound "divisive" to those on the Pre-trib secret rapture theory, because it would mean our Lord Jesus meant what He said that His coming and gathering of His Church is 'after' the tribulation of those days per Matt.24 and Mark 13.

Three things Jesus addressed in matthew 24

Matthew 24 King James Version (KJV)

24 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.

2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

Good point. There's other Scripture examples in God's Word about that point too. Rev.1 even tells us all eyes shall see Him coming in the clouds, not just those on the Pre-trib rapture theory.

Hi justfaith,

You highlighted it `all the tribes of the earth mourn.` (#23) You see those are the nations of the world & not the Body of Christ.

I think so, because Adam is called a son of God in Luke 3:38.
