In Missouri, as state legislators debated on whether or not to extend abortion waiting periods to 72 hours, Juleigh Snell, a self-described atheist who was protesting outside the state capital building, held up a large sign reading "Abortion Is Sacred" before using reporters the usual leftist trope "our health care, our bodies, our choices." Snell's classifying abortion as "sacred" represents the new trend brewing among abortion advocates, a strong pivot from the usual characterization of abortion as "necessary evil." When Wendy Davis launched her 11-hour filibuster in 2013, she said, "sometimes you have to take a stand on sacred ground." Her words echoed that of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi's just two months earlier also referring to abortion as "sacred ground" when interviewing with reporters. In 2009, a lesbian Episcopalian minister named Katherine Ragsdale gave a sermon and stated, "when a woman becomes pregnant within a loving, supportive, respectful relationship; has every option open to her; decides she does not wish to bear a child; and has access to a safe, affordable abortion - there is not a tragedy in sight—only blessing." I agree, I was just about to say that. I didn't think anything was sacred to Atheists. Now we know, some Atheists do worship something. It's time they stop pretending they don't have a religion, I'm quite sick of their abuse of us "theists."
