(Reuters) - Insurers can no longer deny coverage of gender reassignment surgery or other sex change treatment for transgender New Yorkers, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced on Thursday.

Well, they have what they voted for.  Enabling mentally unstable people to continue their delusion is a crime against humanity.  It's the same as abusing a person who is mentally disabled.

When a state goes too far, as they obviously have done in New York, the insurance companies should simply pull out of that state until they state is forced to back down.  This is another example of an out of control government going too far in forcing private businesses, (insurance companies in this case), to do things they have no business requiring.  The government's authority over insurance companies should end with making sure they fulfill any contractual agreements they make, period.  They have no right to force them to provide coverage for anything.
