For I don’t cheat, I don’t sin, and I don’t commit adultery. I’m certainly not like that tax collector! I fast twice a week, and I give you a tenth of my income.’ But the tax collector stood at a distance and dared not even lift his eyes to heaven as he prayed. Instead, he beat his chest in sorrow, saying ‘O God, be merciful to me, for I am a sinner.’ I tell you, this sinner, not the Pharisee, returned home justified before God. I always liked where Paul told me that if I think I am something when I am nothing I deceive myself. At first I hated the truth that in and of myself I am nothing but when I realized the truth about the rewards given for seeking God I was happy to be a nobody!

Me too.  But that's the beauty of being a child of the Most High; you are a very important 'somebody' because of Him.

"Oh I would never do that" or "I'm better than that", these are one of my pet peeves when I hear them, I may raise my eyebrows and think to myself "oh really".

I'm not immune from such thinking, and if or when I do have such a thought, I hope God brings me to the attention of my past before I was saved, then I will humbly see things differently.
