Who are those sons of God,in Job 1:6" And Genesis 6:2"

Are they angels that look like humanbeings?

Genesis 6:2"

The sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were fair, and they took them wives of all which they chose.

Job 1:6"

Now there was a day, when the sons of God came to present themselve, before the Lord,And satan came also among them.

what do you think or understand about this very passages in the scripture?

your input can be of help.

The bible told me not to lean on my own understanding, because in the multitude of counselors there is safety.

Apparently, the Genesis account is totally different than the verses in John 1.  I'm a little confused.

10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Jerry, from my viewpoint it is talking about angels in both places.

MG,  I think that is Job 1 and not John 1.

Yes, "sons of God" is a term used for angels in the Old Testament (as in your references).

It would appear that those who are direct creations of God are called "sons of God" (e.g. Adam), but in the New Testament, it applies to those who have been born again, or born of God, or born from above.  The New Birth is supernatural.

Jesus is the only one who is called "the ONLY BEGOTTEN Son of God", since He has a unique eternal Father-Son relationship with God the Father.  He is NOT "the only Son of God" (as some mistakenly assert) but "the ONLY BEGOTTEN Son of God" who is in the bosom of the Father.

Sons of God are the men of Seth lineage. Not angels. God said in Hebrews speaking of old times "to which one of any of the angels has he called a son?". Angels have never been referred to as sons.

The daughters of men are daughters from the lineage of Cain. It's time to clear the misconception that angels procreated with women to birth nephlim.

This is a tired theory held by many without any substance whatsover.   It is shot down by one simple Bible truth -- NO ONE IS SAVED OR LOST SOLELY ON THE BASIS OF ANCESTRY OR LINEAGE.

A careful study of the kings of Judah and Israel demonstrates this principle nicely. Godly kings were followed by evil sons, and evil kings were followed by godly sons. Justification by grace through faith -- which goes all the way back to Abel -- is never inherited.  If can only be God's gift to those who believe Him and believe on the Lamb of God.

Here's another clincher.  Both Esau and Jacob were of the line of Seth.  Yet Esau is called a "profane person" whereas Jacob became Israel -- a prince of God, having power with God and men.

That is already known, the ones who specifically stood before the Lord were though. Of course not everyone from Seth was a true believer but the ones who stood before the Lord in that specific verse was. It's rather baffling to believe that you think I believe all people from Seth were of God.

So with that being understood, the scriptures speak for themselves when it says "at which time did the Lord called any of the angels sons?" None. It is folklore to believe that angels procreated with women.

You're correct about that yes. I still believe though that fallen angels did not have a desire to marry women.

No, it's John 1.......

John 1 King James Version (KJV)

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
