With his climate change speech to the un, Ive been wondering, in idle speculation, if he is the false prophet. After reading this, Im inclined more and more to think that..

Full text of his speech here.

"... The cross shows us a different way of measuring success. Ours is to plant the seeds. God sees to the fruits of our labors. And if at times our efforts and works seem to fail and not produce fruit, we need to remember that we are followers of Jesus Christ and his life, humanly speaking, ended in failure, the failure of the cross...."

In only human terms, crucifixion can be seen as the abrupt termination of Christ's earthly ministry. I'm sure the Sanhedrin thought that Jesus had failed -- until they had to forbid their fellow Jews from saying his name in public (Acts 4:17)!!!

The Pope said two things...   He called Muslims his brothers and sisters and he called Jesus' work on the cross a failure....

What part of "humanly speaking" are you failing to grasp? The Pope's remarks were obviously meant as an encouragement during our all too human failures, not a critique of the Crucifixion.

And like it or not, we are related to Ishmael through Abraham.

Even tho I dont see how revelation could have started yet. He brings a false gospel. RCC folks beware of what the bible says to do to those who preach a false gospel.

He is A false prophet, for sure.  I can't say that he is THE false prophet.  But he is definitely paving the way for the anti-Christ.  This  Pope is NOT a Christian.  He is just a socialist/Marxist in religious garb.

I agree Shiloh.

I agree the pope was trying to say we can't measure in human terms, but stopped a little short. Needed a little more, as Jesus defeated death and lives!

Look what he emphasizes in his speech & who he thanks-- unsurprising, he reveals his heart.

I did even though I dislike what I read of what he speaks, he did say in human terms, not actually that the cross was a failure. I have heard others say basically the same thing, that the cross can look like the end to some, though we know it was not the end, it was planned and deliberate.

"…but we speak God's wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God predestined before the ages to our glory; the wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it they would not have crucified the Lord of glory" (1 Cor. 2:7-8).

Any Holy Spirit filled born again Christian shepherd given an opportunity like that would proclaim the Victory of Jesus Christ on the cross, and use it to call sinners to repentance for their redemption through JESUS' glorious finished work on the cross!  The Holy Spirit within wouldn't allow them to be silent but to preach the Gospel & to give Glory and praise to God.

There has never been a holy spirit born again christian shepherd in the office of the papaxy.   Remember Richard Wurmbrand, "Tortured for Christ", and many other witnesses, have found that God could use pharoah of egypt, or leaders of babylon, or worldly traders, as He does sovereignly to direct someone's steps, even though they are not serving Christ with their life.   God used catholics in Richard's life like He can use anyone, but they could not bring Richard to Christ because they were not in Christ.  Similar to saints in the icy mountains of western china - the saints could take refuge at night in the pagan temples of buddha, without becoming pagan themselves.

The whole foundation of the rcc contradicts the Gospel - it is an enemy of the cross.

There has never been a holy spirit born again christian shepherd in the office of the papaxy.

How do you know?

the pope is a Jesuit.....   and he's doing what Jesuits have done since they first formed.....   He's not a closet Muslim, nor is he a communist or Marxist......    he's a Jesuit, and apparently from what I read a very good one.....   bad as that is.   He is also fulfilling several very old Catholic prophecies concerning end of times...

Has the pope made any prophecies?  If not I am not sure he is a false prophet.  His words however do deny Jesus, which means he is against Christ, but that dont make him a false prophet.  The OT gives us clues as to what a person did that made them a false prophet and I dont see the pope doing that.

He is preaching a false gospel, but I do not see any prophecies.  I am not keeping up with the pope, as i have better things to do than idolize a man like much of the populous seems to be doing presently, but am just wondering if he has made any prophecies?  Anyone know of any?

The false prophet comes to us during the tribulation. That is future.

I understand what he said.  My point is that he should have not have allowed anyone to think of it as a failure and leave it at that.  He has proven he is a false prophet and not deserving the awe and respect he is getting.

Look at how they worship him.Look at the expressions on their faces.Kind of sad actually.

They call him, "the Vicar of Christ."   Vicar is a Latin word from which we get our word, "vicarious." Jesus suffered vicariously on our behalf.  In other words, "Vicar of Christ"  means that the RCC sees the Pope as the substitute for Christ on earth.   That's how they see him.  It is completely blasphemous and I don't care what kind of theological gymnastics they use to rationalize it.

Pope Francis At White House: “Koran And Holy Bible Are The Same”

Published: 09/23/2015 - Section: Religion, World

http://civictribune.com/pope-francis-at-white-house-koran-and-holy-bible-are-the-same/

On Wednesday the Bishop Of Rome addressed 11,000 ticketed guests on the South Lawn of the White House, during which he pontificated on the dire importance of exhibiting religious tolerance. During his hour-long speech, a smiling Pope Francis was quoted telling the White House guests that the Koran, and the spiritual teachings contained therein, are just as valid as the Holy Bible, and should therefore be respected as such.

“Jesus Christ, Jehovah, Allah. These are all names employed to describe an entity that is distinctly the same across the world. For centuries, blood has been needlessly shed because of the desire to segregate our faiths. This, however, should be the very concept which unites us as people, as nations, and as a world bound by faith. Together, we can bring about an unprecedented age of peace, all we need to achieve such a state is respect each others beliefs, for we are all children of God regardless of the name we choose to address him by. We can accomplish miraculous things in the world by merging our faiths, and the time for such a movement is now. No longer shall we slaughter our neighbors over differences in reference to their God.”

The pontiff drew harsh criticism last December after photos of the 78-year-old Catholic leader was released depicting Pope Francis kissing a Koran. The Muslim Holy Book was given to Francis during a meeting with Muslim leaders after a lengthy Muslim prayer held at the Vatican.

St. John Paul II has courted several controversies since being elected as Pope Benedicto XVI’s replacement in 2013. Francis has gone on record to say that homosexuals are not to be judged, Proselytism is a fallacy and has endorsed the usage of contraceptive by Catholics.

The Vatican will meet again with Muslim leaders in late October where they plan to talk about further steps that can be taken to spread understanding and awareness of the Islamic religion.

Yeah, the stuff this Pope teaches is straight from Hell.  He is leading people to Hell.
