That's the vision John was given. Today we also have ships that fly, ships that travel on railroad tracks, and ships that travel with wheels. Even now we can deliver by internet. The focus here is "commerce". The world of trade. Material goods being bought and sold. We don't only use ships any more. So are the merchants who's goods are delivered by plane, train, truck, car, bike and internet going to be protected because they don't deliver their goods by ship? I have leaned towards it being in Iraq, but who is to say for sure? Maybe it is not an entire nation, but just a single city? It does seem to be describing a city. I can see how some can make the leap and say it is America or New York City, but it is equally possible it has nothing to do with the U.S.A.
