Israel wrestled with God and won.

Be careful when you so desire a blessing from God that you are willing to wrestle Him for it. As He just might let you win, your own way.

Not sure what the point of this thread is, since prophecy includes both good and evil events. As to Jacob "winning" with God the Son, Jacob received a new name -- Israel (which means a prince who has power with God) but he was also rendered lame.  It was at this point that Jacob truly surrendered to God.

That is similar to the apostle Paul being taken up to Heaven and being shown things which were heavenly, but then he received a "thorn in the flesh".  The main point about all Bible prophecy is that ultimately Christ will be victorious over all His enemies and will establish His eternal Kingdom on Earth.

The name Israel means 'one who wrestles with God and wins'. And Israel has never stopped wrestling with God to this day. . .
