BREAKING NEWS: U.S. Senate Just Defied Obama In A HUGE WAY – Unanimous Decision!

  • The Republican Senators in charge of the Judiciary Committee just made a bold announcement after a closed door meeting today: There will be NO confirmation hearings for President Barack Obama’s Supreme Court nomination under ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!

The meeting took place on the first full session day since Justice Antonin Scalia died on February 13th.

This is a crushing defeat for the Obama White House, as the President is hopeful to leave a legacy on the Supreme Court that could spend the next 20-40 years enacting his radical left-wing agenda

“We believe the American people need to decide who is going to make this appointment rather than a lame duck president,” said Majority Whip John Cornyn.

When asked if they would start the process after the new president took office or if they would consider doing it in the lame duck session, Cornyn replied “No, after the next president is selected. That way the American people have a voice in the process.”

The Republican members of the Judiciary Committee were unanimous in agreeing not to move forward with any Obama nominee for the Supreme Court, said Cornyn, who was in the meeting. Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN), who was not in the meeting, later said that GOP senators were told at their weekly lunch that the Judiciary Committee Republicans were in unanimous agreement on the strategy.

Sen. Lindsey Graham said that “there’s no use starting a process that’s not going to go anywhere and we are going to let the next president decide,” when asked why there would be no hearings.

So much for being the party that supports the constitution.

Perhaps they are trying to be the party that appoints judges who honor the Constitution. The Supreme Court has been unconstitutionally legislating from the bench for a long time. FINALLY, there is a chance to fix that an rebalance the gov't powers.

But only if we maintain the Republican Majority in the Senate....   and I don't hear much about the senate races on the news or even here.

I agree with what the Republicans are doing.  Sotomayor and Kagan were Obama's appointments, we don't need any more of those.

Democrats only say that when the decision is in their best interests.  If the shoe was on the other foot, and it has been, Democrats take the Republican decision.  Democrats are hippocrites when it comes to the US Constitution.

There is nothing in the constitution about doing business different during an election year.

I find the argument that since the Demacrats are hypocrites it is ok for us to do so as well.

President Obama has spoken on the record while he was a Senator that he was against lame duck Supreme Court appointments.  Many other Democrats have said the same.  Now that there's an opening on the Supreme Court and the Democrats have a lame duck President Obama, they are changing their tune.  The Democrats and their supporters are hypocrites.  Wear the label proudly.

I am neither Demacrat nor a supporter.

As I stated above, I do not agree with the philosophy that if someone else is guilty of something it gives me a free pass to do it also.

Where in the Constitution does it state things change in an election year?
