Two days ago I found out that they had given her 2 weeks to live. Today I got the call that she had died. I'm not sure how I feel. We were best friends in grad school and play together everyday since she lived across the street from my grandma's house. We both loved horses and "The Dukes Of Hazzard". But when we got into high school we slowly fell out of touch with each other. We had different friends and different interest. We still say "hello" to each other but nothing more. A few years ago she married my husband's cousin. She would come to the family reunions and at times we would make small talk but then it just became a nice "hello" and nothing more. We no longer had anything in common. I feel disappointed that we never reconnected as adults. I feel kind of strange about her death. The memories I have of her are all from my childhood.
