Yikes! Focusing on "I" is the last place of focus we should have ....unless we are focusing on allowing God to shape the "I" into the likeness of his Son. The Bible tells us to die to self, that to die is gain when life is Christ, and to pick up our crosses daily and to follow Christ. We can't think on those things or do any of those things if we are internalizing our focus to "find" God within ourselves. This idea comes from Eastern religions (Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, etc) which is essentially Pantheism -- God is in every part of His creation. But the Bible says that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, therefore the New Birth is essential. Those who are born again have the indwelling Holy Spirit (who is God). He is the one who enables Christians to live godly in Christ Jesus.
