According to Morning Star News, Algerian congregations -- many of which have Christians from Islamic backgrounds -- have come under increasing scrutiny by the state. For example, a law was passed in 2006 that forbade non-Muslims from attending unregistered churches also requires its congregations to obtain official permission in order to use buildings for worship. As a result, many congregations resort to renting space through a third party despite the fact that the nation's new constitution guarantees freedom of worship. No related posts.
