The diplomats urged a harsher policy that included "a judicious use of stand-off and air weapons" in order to show Assad that the U.S. is willing to use military force. Such a threat, the officials argued, "would undergird and drive a more focused and hard-nosed U.S.-led diplomatic process." While it's nice to finally see SOME dissension within the Obama regime (after having seemingly free reign in destroying the country for 7 1/2 years), I cannot support what these State Dept. signatories are promoting. Given his foreign policy incompetence, isn't it better to have the current CIC doing as little damage as possible?
