Ephesians 2:10 "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations." Psalm 139:13 "For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb." Psalm 139:14 "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well." So why might anyone think that God does not want them in His Kingdom? It is rejection by the individual that keeps them away from God, not God. Ideas such as predestination and such come from people who focus only on the New Testament with no references to The Old Testament.
