You could hardly call it "ruling" in view of the unprecedented judgments and plagues which are poured out upon the earth. The rulers are still around but cowering as God's wrath is poured out. We are talking about the Day of the Lord, so please review what that entails.

And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? (Rev 6:15-17).

Hi Ezra,

Let`s have a closer look -

`Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, & his kingdom became full of darkness;...` (Rev. 16: 10)

So here we see that the anti-Christ still has a throne & a kingdom. Thus he is still ruling. The Lord Jesus Christ has NOT taken his authority & power away yet, at that time.

Still ruling there Ezra.

Marilyn.

I did not say anything about Christ taking authority and power over the earth before His second coming. But the Day of The LORD (which is under God's authority) renders the power of earthly kings as nothing, and that is the point which needs to be made.

During the Great Tribulation (the Day of the LORD) the kings of the earth are hiding from God, not ruling with pomp and authority.  If a kingdom is full of darkness, do you understand the implications? If judgements and plagues are being poured out, and the earth is being devastated every day, it is a state of dire emergency, and abject fear in the hearts of the rulers and the people.

Hi Ezra,

Now you say the kings of the earth are hiding from God. yes we are told that, however they are not hiding for all of the last part of the 70th week,........ they are ruling.

Marilyn.

(Rev 6:15-17).

And why do they say that His Wrath is about to fall?

Vision of the Angel with the Gospel
Rev 14:6 And I saw another angel flying in midheaven, having an eternal gospel to preach to those who live on the earth, and to every nation and tribe and tongue and people; 7 and he said with a loud voice, " Fear God, and give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come; worship Him who made the heaven and the earth and sea and springs of waters."
8 And another angel, a second one, followed, saying, " Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, she who has made all the nations drink of the wine of the passion of her immorality."

Doom for Worshipers of the Beast
9 Then another angel, a third one, followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed in full strength in the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever; they have no rest day and night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name."

Since this comes before the Harvest from the Clouds by Jesus, aren't they right to fear for themselves?  After all, they took the mark of the beast and worshiped him....

But are they really right about what comes next?  After all, they are the wicked...
- And the next thing to happen is the Harvest.  THEN, after the Harvest, another Angel comes out to charge the winepress of God's Wrath!

After they crawl out of their caves, after the bloodbath in Israel, do they not continue to rule?

Don't the King of the North and the King of the South do battle in WWIII that takes a third of all remaining life present in the field of this world?

And aren't the three major Kingdoms in charge of their respective lands when God leads them all to Armageddon to do battle with each other?

Now all that is, but meanwhile, they're suffering.  It will not be as it is now for the ruling elite in their comfort and privilege.

OK, Marilyn, they are ruling, if that makes you happy.  Looks like this time you are siding with the evildoers.

Here is the reality of the Great Tribulation:

6 Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.

7 Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt:

8 And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames.

9 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.

10 For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.

11 And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.

12 I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.

13 Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.

?  That's the reality of the Day of the Lord's Wrath.

For the Great Tribulation we need to look at Mt 24.

Hi Ezra,

Oh I couldn`t help but have a good chuckle there bro - `if that makes you happy.` Now some people say `I agree TO disagree,` However as a Christian I believe we should say, `I agree THAT we disagree,` & THAT I believe the Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth, (as we listen). So I`ll leave you to discuss with Marcus. Look forward to chatting with you on other topics, bro.

regards, Marilyn.

The King of the North has authority to rule for 42 months.  At which, he does what he should not, with his proclamation of godhood and having his abominable talking image of himself erected through the false prophet.

After that he is thwarted, but he still rules the North.  The Two Witnesses are unstoppable, and after the Great Tribulation, Jesus comes; rescues us, and tramples out His Wrath in Israel!  But that is not the end.

Still men control their regions and God sets the ungodly to kill each other and be tormented by the Trumpet and Bowl desolations which He has decreed as recorded on the Scroll.

In the end: the climatic battle where North, South, and East meet for the last time, and the King of the North wins, and gains the whole world -- only to see our Champion Jesus arrive with His Army!

In command of all the remaining wicked, who all hate the one true God of Israel there is one, last epic battle and the King of the North and the false prophet are captured alive.

The three federated nations which made up the fourth terrible beast survive for just a month or two and a half, but the rule of Man has been shattered, and the Lord's Millennium Reign begins!
