Should a person who is openly homosexual be baptized?

Came across this question and thought I'd run it by the Worthy family. My initial thoughts are no. I'll have to dig into Scripture to better form a position.

God bless,

GE

A person is baptized after they have received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. They have read the Bible and they know what the Bible has to say about homosexuality. Are they in denial about their homosexuality? Why would they want to be baptized when they are obviously living in sin and reject the Word of God?

My first reaction was in agreement with you. However, how many have read the bible at this stage?  Some maybe have.  Yet, I wonder, who has received Jesus as their Savior, who is not living in sin?  Sin is sin.  Who gets baptized but waits until they do not sin in anger?  Who waits to be perfected before being baptized?

God loves everyone it's true. ? What passage in the Bible are you specifically referring to?

How does this idea of God loving everyone specifically relate to someone who is openly living the homosexual lifestyle becoming baptized?

God bless,

GE

Interesting questions. ?

What do you mean about them being in denial about their homosexuality?

Is openly living homosexual lifestyle sin?

What does the Bible say on the subject?

God bless,

I could very well be mistaken about a lot of things, one of the reasons I participate here, so I can learn.  Does all sin need to be addressed before baptism, or only homosexuality?

No of course not ,but this is a very serious one where people are openly proud of what they do  .

So, there are levels of sin?  Which ones are serious that need to be checked before one is baptized?
