I never said they did. They just prove beyond doubt that there were giants on the earth as the Bible clearly teaches.

There are giants today. There are people that are nearly 8 feet tall. I remember my dad taking me to see Andre the Giant as a child and that guy looked like a mountain. So did blackjack Mulligan.

The only time I was able to go to the fair (12) as a child we went in a tent to see their Giant and I remember he took off his ring and could  put a 50 cent coin through it . pretty big finger.

The Septuagint has Goliath, at 6'6", more or less, and as I recall, a dead sea scroll had him at 4 cubits and Josephus had him at 4 cubits and a span. Not sure what any of that means (just how big were these cubits?), but his armor and implements of war, make him sound sizable.
I think surely, he was a large man, if nothing else, but perhaps no more so that Andre the Giant was, if that.
In my opinion, the pictures of skeletons and foot prints in rock, could all easlily, perhaps even likely, be fakes.
However, ayin jade's article had nothing to to with any of than, only with Philistines in general.
The only thing about Goliaththere, is in the title, because most people could care less about the Philistines, but Goliath, now he is more interesting.

A cubit back then was 18 inches thus 4.333 cubits is roughly 6 feet and 6 inches.

I have also read a cubit is 24 inches. I don't know which is right not sure anyone does.

If I remember correctly a  cubit is the distance from one's elbow to finger tip.

Somewhere, I read it was 18"

"Eerdman’s Dictionary of the Bible

[7, page 1373] states “… archeology

and literature suggests an average

length for the common cubit of

44.5 cm (17.5 in.).” This citation

also gives a range of 42–48 cm

(17–19 in) for the cubit. Range is

an important parameter because it

indicates the variation operating

on this measure. Variation

indicates multiple influences."

Not sure if there was a really standardized cubit back in the day. People were also generally shorter than today, so I'd lean toward the shorter cubit.

Did you read the article? It states that they have found no giant skeletons in the Philistines' graves so far. Goliath was a Philistine, but there's no trace of His skeleton.

I believe The Bible 100%.

With that said, was Goliath a Philistine. He "went out from the camp of the Philistine army." David called him a Philistine, but that does not necessarily mean any more than he was a member of the Philistine army. Was Goliath a Philistine or a Philistine mercenary. Both are possible. The answer does not contradict Scripture either way.
