The parents of a toddler killed by an alligator at Walt Disney World last month said that they won't be pursuing a lawsuit against Disney.

Disney World president George Kalogridis said in a statement the company continues to provide support for the family. A spokeswoman, Jacquee Wahler, wouldn't elaborate further.

Authorities say an alligator pulled Lane Graves into the water June 14. His father said a second alligator attacked him as he tried to save his son.

Lane's body was recovered the next day, and an autopsy showed he died from drowning and traumatic injuries.

After Lane's death, Disney World made changes to limit possible visitor contact with alligators on the property.

Rope fences with netting were installed around some waterfront areas, and "No Fishing" signs were installed. Fishing at Disney World was changed to be limited only to excursions.

Probably a good idea on their part, many would have and won. It's nice to see someone who realizes capitalizing on their sons death won't bring him back.

They may have gotten an offer of a sum of money ...

which I have no problem with them taking. They should at least have expenses paid for.

Changes have been made at Disney.  The biggest profiteer would have been the attorneys for both parties involved.  If Disney is treating the family right in their time of grief, I think it is an excellent decision on their part not to proceed with a lawsuit.  Lawyers would have wanted at least 40% of any settlement after years in court.  By the time Uncle Sam takes his cut, the family wouldn't have gotten much for the tragedy they suffered.

That is what I am thinking. A payoff. And they have been Blessed financially by many who have supported them during this tragedy.
