Many places in the world appear to be a powder keg with the fuse lit. Maybe we're looking at signs of the end of this age.

Turkey has cancelled the passports of many of the country's journalists after the July 15 coup, opposition lawmaker Selina Dogan claimed Monday, as Ankara continues a controversial purge and crackdown on those it deems supporters of the coup. ...The move is seen as the latest crackdown on critical media in the country following the coup... Arrest warrants were issued late last month for 89 journalists, at least 40 of whom are now detained. Using the state of emergency, the government has ordered the closure of at least 131 newspapers, television and radio stations, publishers and news agencies since July 15. The latest news comes after more than 60,000 people in the military, judiciary, civil service and education sectors have been detained, suspended or placed under investigation...

Likewise, China now bans all internet news reports not pre-screened by the government. France has its own state of emergency, giving the government sweeping powers to arrest and detain without warrant, and to curb free speech. Similar government restrictions on civil rights are increasing throughout other EU nations.

That is what I am seeing also. The world economy is barely hanging on by a thread. One WMD terrorist attack, or a string of banks collapsing, could release the whole flood of pent-up emotions. However, Jesus is the one to release the Seals, so I presume that means he is the one to release that flood.

The 12th-13th of August is the 9th of Ab this year, the "day of evil report," when crises often begin. That date bears close watch this year, because events on that day often indicate of the type of crisis to ensue for many months thereafter.

"EXCLUSIVE/ Two independent sources told EurActiv.com that the US has started transferring nuclear weapons stationed in Turkey to Romania, against the background of worsening relations between Washington and Ankara.

"...Another source told EurActiv.com that the US-Turkey relations had deteriorated so much following the coup that Washington no longer trusted Ankara to host the weapons.

"...Stationing tactical US nuclear weapons close to Russia’s borders is likely to infuriate Russia and lead to an escalation. The stationing of Russian nuclear missiles in Cuba in 1962 was the closest the Cold War came to escalating into a full-scale nuclear war.

"...After the failed putsch, relations between Washington and Ankara are at their worst since Turkey joined NATO in 1952. Ankara believes the US government supports the Turkish US-exiled cleric Fethullah Gülen, whom it accuses of having masterminded the failed coup. Turkey is demanding Gülen’s extradition, and the issue is expected to take center stage when US Vice President Joe Biden visits Turkey on 24 August.

"Arthur H. Hughes, a retired US ambassador, wrote in EurActiv yesterday (17 August) that Gülen has indeed received considerable assistance from the CIA."

I don't know what bothers me more -

The situation itself or that the American news media is being silent on the issue.
