Because right now you are each speaking different languages. If you truly desire to reach out to this lost soul, then you must be able to communicate with him in a method that has an impact. Whatever the topic, just saying "I will pray for you" is a huge fail. But if you can return his questions with articulate and well founded answers, then he may come around. Learn what he is discussing, do your research. Reaching out is more than just getting on your knees to pray.

Well done so far. God can outlast him and his questions. If he has sincere questions, tell him, like someone said before, that you will ask your friends about it. Do not be phased as this person seems to have questions about his own questions. He sounds upset with himself. Chill out and do not preach all the time but meet on some common ground. He may think you are 'bible bashing' him and the adversary loves a fight. If you own up to your own inadequacy in answering all he puts to you, that is no loss. After all, it is God that saves (or does not) depending on our own personal beliefs. Just keep on keeping on.
