I have always wondered that. I tend to think when you die that it is like you are in a deep sleep. I know we talk about people in Heaven looking down on us. However, how can they be happy in Heaven if they can see us suffering down here? Also, wouldn't they miss us? Makes no sense. My opinion is that the dead know nothing. It is just like it was before you were born. You knew nothing before you were born. I think death is the same way.

I have always wondered that.... The Dead In Christ Will Raise First For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 1 Thessalonians 4:16 (King James Bible) Then The Living Will Follow Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. 1 Thessalonians 4:17-18 (King James Bible) And All The Saints Will Ride And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. Revelation 20:4-6 (King James Bible) Down To Jerusalem In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon. And the land shall mourn, every family apart; the family of the house of David apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Nathan apart, and their wives apart; The family of the house of Levi apart, and their wives apart; the family of Shimei apart, and their wives apart; All the families that remain, every family apart, and their wives apart. Zechariah 12:11-14 (King James Bible) As I See It Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem. The LORD hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Israel, even the LORD, is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more. In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not: and to Zion, Let not thine hands be slack. The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing. Zechariah 3:14-17 (King James Bible) ~ However In The Meantime I See The Spirits Of Dead In Christ We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8 (King James Bible) Are With Jesus Until They Get The wicked is thrust down by his wrongdoing, But the righteous has a refuge when he dies. Proverbs 14:32 (New American Standard Bible) Their New Bodies Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. John 5:24-25 (King James Bible) ~ And The Point Of All Of This Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. John 5:24 (King James Bible) And Of The Bible Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14 (King James Bible) Is Jesus Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Matthew 1:23 (King James Bible) ~ Be Blessed Beloved Daughter Of The KING The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them. Numbers 6:24-27 (King James Bible) Love, Your Brother Joe

John 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6:54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. John 11:23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. 24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. 25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? 27 She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world. 1 Cor 15:51 ¶ Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. Short Answer: Yes for those who are in Christ and saved by God's grace. See Acts 7 and 8 regarding Stephen's martyrdom.

I don't think it really matters... unless one things one would be conscious and aware while in that sleep. One dies and the next thing one knows is that there is Jesus..... Muslims do believe they are conscious in the grave and is one reason they are instructed to memorize the Koran. The exception is for those who die in Jihad, and their family. Those go directly to heaven. But for us, I can't see any difference in the perception of the dead person.

How can one breathe when his body is turning into dust in the grave? In fact, how can one see, hear, speak, or even think when his body is corrupted? And it isn't just me who asked these questions....Psalms 6:5 For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks? Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. 6 Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun. 10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. We do not have a soul that has its own personlaity and ability to communicate , feel, touch, taste, smell, without the body. Genesis clearly states that when "God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into him the breath of life, and man became a living soul." Therefore we do not have a soul, we are a soul. We do not remember going into that dream state. It is not painful. We are just there.
