What are everyone's thoughts on this article? A Texas man claims that God guided him to build a Dam around his home and people laughed at him. But his house was the only one that didn't get destroyed in a flood. Here is the article. http://www.naycrumors.com/articles/randy-wagner-texas-flood-house-dam/

What are your thoughts?

This is entirely plausible, so we can be thankful the guidance he received.

You are so funny.  Wow God does things we can even begin to understand.  I"m glad he listened.

Why is it that people are willing to believe God really told this guy to do this, but when someone says God told them to kill their kids, nobody wants to believe them?

Do you disbelieve that God told this guy to do this?

Yes, actually I do.  I am a skeptic about such things.  I do not believe God deals with us in such manner any more.  Also, why belvie only the good "God told me stories"?  Seems sort of a double standards

Sometimes the proof is in the pudding. That's why the Scriptures have the instruction, "Test the spirits to see if they are of God."

I disagree with your belief that God is now a silent God. Have you ever had incidences in your life where you had a thought to do something, and in the doing of it turned out to be a good thing? How do you know that was not the Holy Spirit?

Because God would not tell someone to do something that his clearly contrary to Scripture. Murdering someone is clearly against scripture. Since God once told a man to build a boat far from water and before it rained its not too much of a stretch that He would tell someone to build a dam around their house. People did think the man was nuts, but he still has a non-flooded house.
