(Worthy News) - The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said Tuesday that the Syrian army fired two surface-to-air missiles at Israeli military aircraft in response to overnight strikes in the Golan Heights, but denied claims its aircraft had been shot down.

The alleged incident took place as Israeli aircraft targeted Syrian regime artillery positions after a projectile launched from Syria landed on the Israeli side of the border in the Golan Heights in the fourth incident of cross-border fire to take place in the space of a week.

The IDF said that two surface-to-air missiles were launched towards Israeli jets in response to the strikes, but that the aircraft were not near the source of fire. [ Source ]
