Sometimes I’d just like to know where someone’s particular thought/belief/interpretation originates.

The important thing is to firstly know the Bible for yourself, then compare what is said with what is in Scripture. Denominational backgrounds are secondary. And I am not in any denomination.

I am a non denominational born again "Christian". I attended the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod for 25 years. I did not grow as a Christian in that Church so I left.

Started off in a Charismatic then Southern Baptist->Pentecostal->Non Denom->Reformed Baptist->Lutheran (LCMS>ELS)-> Reformed (Belgic)->non denom.

You can throw in a bit of Anglican (1923 BCP).

And my BC days was no Church at all, being raised under atheism.

Through it all our focus is to be on the Person of Jesus Christ and His Word.

Nearly all other denominations are the same.

This is why God never set out to build another religion / denomination / hierarchy of man. We are all priests before God (1 Peter 2:3-9, Revelation 1:6, Revelation 5:10).

Blindness of what true faith requires ask the question "which denomination?".

True spiritual harvest by God initiates the process of dissassociation of all faiths and religions eventually.

As God the Father requires faith solely of him, and not man.

Though we use what ever vehicles he may supply us to achieve these aims.

I'm curious if those people here quoted then do not attend a local church gathering or partake in the local church?

God bless,
GE

No, I do not. The last Church I attended was a Community Church and although I loved the Pastor's sermons and I learned a lot became a mega Church it was huge and I felt lost. Also their were many cliques and I hate cliques. I have not found a Church where I am comfortable.

You have erroneously assumed that there are no non-denominational local churches and assemblies.  Check around and be informed.

I attend a 'non denom'. Why do you ask?  Experiencing many denominations only enhanced my understanding of the ways of Churches that I may be more effective in serving. Or is your assumption that we can't settle down so we throw in the towel?

Sorry I misread your post. I understood it to mean you didn't attend a local church. :)

I can relate to feeling lost. I was a part of a big church and moved to a smaller church a few years back. Isn't it kind of human nature to find one's tribe as the saying goes? Why not try again and find your own niche of folks to learn, grow, and live life with?

God bless,
GE

Ezra I asked a question for clarification and better understanding of where people are coming from. No need to be mean or rude. I realize there are many local churches who aren't part of any particular denomination or affiliation of churches. Re-read my comments on this thread. :)

God bless,

GE

I am very fussy who teaches me the word of God. And I want that Pastor to teach me from the words in the Bible. I want a literal meaning to those words. I am not into tongues or the emergent Church. The Church that I want to experience is far and few between today. Churches are not what they used to be.
