(Worthy News) - Protests turned violent for a second night in Charlotte after Tuesday’s fatal police shooting of a black man. Late Wednesday, Gov. Pat McCrory declared a state of emergency for the city and deployed the National Guard and State Highway Patrol troopers to assist local police.

One person was shot at the protest and was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, Medic said. The city initially reported that he died, but later retracted that, saying he was on life-support. [ Source ]

Charlotte faces aftermath of protests ignited by fatal police shooting; 16 officers injured

Charlotte officials say they are preparing for more protests today following a night of violence over a police officer’s fatal shooting of an African-American man Tuesday in the University City area. The dead man was identified as Keith Lamont Scott, 43.

Sixteen police officers were injured overnight in a series of clashes, and there were reports early Wednesday of motorists on Interstate 85 being hurt and their vehicles damaged when protesters threw rocks, bottles and traffic cones off interstate overpasses onto traffic below. [ Source ]

If what I heard this morning early is true it seems that the protesters were shooting other protesters....

They are not protestors. They are rioters.    The riots need to be shut down.   Protesting is one thing.  But riots are not constitutionally protected speech.   Once you start burning cars and breaking windows and causing property damage, you have ceased being a protester and are now a criminal.

There were a lot of protestors and a few riotorsl.....  we'll more than a few, but still I saw a lot of protesters early in the evening.  They were locking arms blocking between thone who were getting out of hand with their backs to the police and telling the others to calm down.  Most of the people I saw early evening left and all you will see on the news today are the professionals and a couple of ignorant followers creating chaos...  those people should spend a couple of years on alcatraz island.

open it back up and mine the beach and feed the sharks to keep them up close.   Send a boat out with food and water and let them take care of themselves....

yes figuratively,,,,   but still that's what they deserve.
