hey Nebula,

I was thinking the same thing.  Is there anything we as Christians can do outside of whispering a prayer for our nation?

That's something you will have to seek God about what He wants you to do, because I really don't know.

Is forced freedom still freedom?

Freedom means freedom to respect the things that stand for freedom.  As far as "forced", no one is stopping anyone from migrating to Cuba.

Freedom should also mean the right not to respect the things that stand for freedom, otherwise it is not really freedom.

Forgive me if I'm looking too deep into this but it brings to my mind the story of the 3 Hebrew boys in Daniel 3  had to choose between what everyone in the government said was the law (Bow down and worship the image) or die in the fiery furnace. Now it's not an exact apples to apples comparison but it just brings to my mind the reason the founding fathers fled to this continent....for civil and religious liberty. When the government starts imposing laws that go against our conscience then you eventually start seeing history repeating itself.

Without that respect, there can only be anarchy. And those who don't care for what the nation originally stood for should make it a point to leave the country.  That would be the exercise of their freedom.  You don't like McDonald's go to Burger King. You don't like America, go to Saudi Arabia (if you can).

The country originally stood for slavery and only white males being allowed to vote.

I like your analogy, but it is flawed.  What are you saying is that if you do not like the Big Mac only, then go to Burger King, because it is not acceptable to like the fish sandwich.  I can tell you that I did not spend my time in the military so that people like you could tell people how to use their freedom, that is not your job.
