(Worthy News) - Violent crime across the U.S. jumped in 2015 after two years of declines, the FBI announced Monday, adding that the number of murders reported by local law enforcement agencies was up 10.8 percent from 2014.

Violent crime overall rose by 3.9 percent, the data showed. While up from 2014, it was still down from 2011 and 2006, the FBI reported. The murder rate for U.S. metropolitan areas was slightly higher compared to the rest of the country.

The overall statistics show an estimated 15,696 murders and non-negligent manslaughters in the country in 2015, a 10.8 percent increase from the year before. Those totals do not include killings that agencies have deemed justifiable. [ Source ]

And she was correct because she was not speaking of a single year, if I am not mistaken she said down since the in the 70s.

An example of crime being down...https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2012/crime-in-the-u.s.-2012/tables/1tabledatadecoverviewpdf/table_1_crime_in_the_united_states_by_volume_and_rate_per_100000_inhabitants_1993-2012.xls

In 1993 the violent crime rate was 747 per 100,000 people, in 2012 it was 387 per 100,000 people.

Ah yes, the liberal kool-aid.   When they want to run on their policies, crime is down in order to show that their policies work.  But when they want to justify more gun control, they claim that crime is up.   We have had liberals on this board for YEARS citing statistics that violent crime is not only up, but that it is higher in the US than anywhere else.  They cite those statistics to justify their views on needing more gun control laws.

If you have some evidence the statistics I provided are false, feel free to present it.  Otherwise your post seems devoid of purpose other than to stir up strife.

I am not commenting on if the statistics you provided are true or not.   I am simply pointing out that the liberals who squawk about how violent crime is down when they are campaigning on their policies, are the same ones who throw up statistics that the exact opposite in order to make the case for gun control.
