What do you do when sin runs your life and you cry to God for help yet no help or answer?  I know this sin should not be in my life, but feel so powerless against it; and God doesn't heed my cry.

And as sickening as I view this sin of mine; it just makes me hate myself so much more.  So yea not only do I hate myself but find myself hating others also.

Blessings FreeinChrist

God does not heed your cry? Do you not Believe His Word?

Quote

Psalm 56:8

You keep track of all my sorrows.[a]
You have collected all my tears in your bottle.
You have recorded each one in your book.

God does hear you,He knows your hear,He sees your tears BUT why should He answer, how do you expect Him to & what do you suppose He should do? He went to Calvary in YOUR place to not only FORGIVE you but ALSO to give YOU ALL Power & Authority to stad on the Position of Victory & be an overcomer

Quote

King James Bible
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world           1 John 4:4

Self loathing & self pity is also bondage by the spirit of "pride".......you ARE "FREE IN CHRIST"      Believe Him,Trust Him,read His Word & speak it!!!!! Stand FIRM!!!!

Sin is indeed a terrible thing.  And the thing about the devil is - he plays hardball.  Once you are down and defeated - he doesn't stop tormenting you with sin.

His sickening plan of action is to get you and me and everyone else in bondage to a particular sin - and that will make us nervous, guilty, worried, spiritually anxious, embarrassed to be in God's presence, depressed and more - which leads us BACK to the overwhelming and sick need for the participation in the sin that made us a spiritual wreck in the first place.  It's a spiritual addiction.  And it keeps many Christians in a vicious cycle and useless for God.  And that's exactly where the devil wants us to be.

When Christians cry out to God in sin - most of the time, and I can't speak for you, but most of the time - we ask for his deliverance from it.  "Take this desire away, God!"  And we don't look for any other answer.

It's not that God isn't answering you - it's that he already HAS answered you - answered that question for all of us and we aren't heeding it.

1 Corinthians 10:13 - " No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."

You see, God KNEW when he had the Apostle Paul write this down that you, personally, and all of us personally would be struggling one day.  He knew that we would be "down for the count", crawling like a dog "back to his vomit", and wallowing in filth crying to be free.  And so he did what only Almighty God can do.  He will NEVER allow you or me to undergo a temptation that is unconquerable.  And he provides a way of escape.

You are in a bad place right now and the devil has you convinced that God isn't listening nor does he care.  It's all a lie.  And also, yours isn't a physical battle.  It's never a physical battle even if the sin involves the physical.  Sin is a spiritual battle.  Ephesians 6:12-13 - "We don't wrestle against flesh and blood but against principalities, ect....."  You HAVE to fight this from a spiritual standpoint.  The flesh is too weak.  And "fight" is the key word.

What is that proverbial way of escape?  Well, a large part of it is this:  Psalm 119:11 I will hide your words in my heart so that I won't sin against you."

If you don't hear anything else I say, hear this:  Jesus Christ - who IS God and who is the SON of God recited scripture three times [Deuteronomy] when he was tempted in the wilderness.  And in the Garden of Gethsemene, where he was in agony to the "point of death" he said and questioned going to the cross THREE TIMES, he urged his followers to Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation." Matthew 26

And when dying on the cross, he quoted scripture from Psalms 22:1  to God.  "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

At the lowest points of his life on this earth - scripture was the weapon/tool that Jesus reached for.

You must do the three things that Jesus did:

[1]  Have scripture committed to memory, to the heart, to the tongue, and to the mind.  Let that scripture be your way of escape AHEAD of time - not AFTER the fact.  It must transform you.  What scriptures?  Seek that for yourself.

[2]  You MUST "watch".  Peter said to "Be sober (spiritually alert and watchful).  The devil is like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour." 1 Peter 5:8.    You must be on the OFFENSIVE here.  Be watchful and alert for the people, things, and events that lure you into temptation.

[3]  You must pray.  And not after the fact of sin.  And not in a defeated plea for God to just "make it go away".  The devil, on this earth, ISN'T going to go away.  And you, armed with scripture, prayer, a watchful spirit, faith, and trust, must fight.

It's not that God isn't answering you - he has already given you the answer in his word.  Heed it.  I will pray for you today.

Great post Jayne.....

Just want to re-enforce one point you made

Pay attention here FreeinChrist.......seeking who he MAY devour, the enemy is an opportunist,he preys on those not wielding the Shield of FAITH ,not wearing Gods Full Armor & who have not the Sword of the Spirit.......

Thanks Jayne, beautiful elaboration from my post as well,Amen!                                                                         With love-in Christ,Kwik

So the sin that so easily owns me is porn addiction.  And I know just enough about God's word in this area to destroy myself.  See I Corinthians 7:2; Hebrews 13:4; but God is not obliged to give me anything, and as this sin continues in my life and yes literally owns me, I fine myself to be sicken by the fact I can't even get a gal, or perhaps God cannot remove this desire from me.   I just continue to fight a losing battle, as in the last week except for days that I have been totally tired after work, will you know I just fail to follow Romans 6:13-14.

So my problem is how do I bring this to God in pray knowing my weakness, and wondering were the Grace of God thru Jesus Christ and His finish work on the cross is.   Yes Christ grace will forgive me of this sin; but even with this grace it doesn't seem like mercy but rather His justice as the sin just seems to own me and the desire isn't token away or met.

Hi FIC,

You are in an era where your addiction is not only with you every minute mentally but physically, its availability is only  a click or tap away. No more having the shame of buying a magazine at the store but all in the comfort and privacy of your home, car, work office, beach, anywhere - you can get to it. All that alone is soul destroying let alone the guilt and self hatred after viewing the stuff.

The most beautiful and mysterious gift God has given a married couple, has been trashed, dragged through the mud and trivialised by the world through satan.

You are one of many many people of both genders who struggle with this. Don't feel isolated.

God has not turned deaf to your agony but you must dig deep and try to stop as well. Please seek professional help - talk to pastors and be a part of mens group who are at the same stage as you.

Theres a Christian singer called Jimmy Needham(I think) who struggled with porn. His testimony is on YT if you want to look it up. Powerful too.

You will be in my prayers.

Knowing "just enough" in any or every area of Gods Word is not enough, how can y8ou begin to Renew your mind  if you are not feeding your spirit with spiritual things? God has given YOU Power & Authority ,He is most likely not going to simply zap you FREE from this carnal mentality.....If you truly desire the Heart & Mind of Christ then you must seek Him    The sin does own you because you serve the enemy, you cannot have 2 masters.....it is no greater or more powerful an addiction than any other, the root, the core ,the principality is the spirit of "pride",it is your god      You desire Jesus as Savior but will not permit him t o be Lord of your life, this is what you must forsake 'Self" & He can help you do it but not by knowing "just enough" about Him or His Word,it is by KNOWING HIM.........

I strongly suggest you stop this SELF loathing & pity (I do not mean that disrespectfully)I tell you this because you are on a dangerous road of a hardened heart that can wax cold.......and because I love you and am concerned for you.......If you do not feed your spirit spiritual things then it starves, you are starving .......

When I go through times when I feel my faith shaken, I pray to God and tell Him just that!

I admit my unbelief and ask for Him to provide help for me... I ask Him to open my mind and

heart to new ideas (God's ideas) to how to help myself and seek help from others... He doesn't let me down.

Who The Man....

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
