It's unknown territory that's for sure but I feel sad about it to tell the truth.

How does one do an ancestry search with that mix-up?

How will it affect the child to know he/she has a second mother?

The concern science has is the passing on of the DNA to the next generations, mutations, but since this child is male this type of DNA will not be passed since it's only  passed by the female. So if the child was a girl I guess flags would be up.

There is always a reaction to any action. Even with all the positives in this stuff, science needs to tread carefully.

We have a hard time dealing with races we have let alone another race of genetically altered humans. And that's just a practical societal thing let alone all the theories that can happen genetically in science.

I think it's fascinating also like shadows but at the same time taking a deep breath.

End of an era - that baby ushers in a new era of folk with the dna heritage of 3. Its actually quite a moment in history - its changed.

I think folks are missing a greater issue here. The technique typically relies on killing (they call it discarding) a fertilized egg. Some may think that isnt life yet, but I regard it as life. In this case, because they were muslim, he opted to use a slightly different technique but one in which there were 5 fertilized eggs/ embryos. Only one of which they used. It doesnt say what happened to the rest of them. Were they not viable? Were they discarded? From a Christian ethical standard, that is a much bigger issue. At least, to me.

Edited: The other embryos were supposedly not viable. But in fertility clinics, there are often discarded embryos once they have a successful one for any couple.
