(Worthy News) - President Obama lost his first veto fight with Congress on Wednesday after Democrats and Republicans in the House and Senate voted overwhelmingly to override his objection to a bill that would allow families of the Americans killed in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks to sue the government of Saudi Arabia.

The Senate voted 97-1 to override Obama's veto, and the only "no" vote was from Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev.

The final House vote was 348-77. Democrats voted by a more than two-to-one margin against Obama. [ Source ]

For once the Senate and Congress did what is right rather than what is politic.  However this does not excuse their failure to prevent the handover of the internet (or a thousand other issues on which Obama was given carte blanche).

They likely only did it to save their jobs this election, knowing that the public is pretty ticked off and will vote accordingly.

While I want to applaud Congress in over riding an Obama veto, I can't help but wonder if Obama is right in this particular case.  Can citizens of other countries sue the U.S. for all the deaths we cause in interfering with the world?

that's just one possibility.....     The Saudi's have  a lot of money invested over here, and what they have would be subject to court actions.....   they may well remove all income from the US so we don't put holds on it like we did Iran...   I'm not sure how much they have and what removing it might do to our banking system.

Then there is the oil....
