It is, http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/10/14/russian-aircraft-carrier-expected-in-english-channel/ Not really a big deal, they will be shadowed by NATO the whole way, a nice little game on the high seas. I always have to chuckle every time I read "Russia's lone aircraft carrier"

It may just be games, but sometimes you wonder if there's something more to this than what we hear. Hard to trust anything these days.

'TO' and 'THROUGH' have totally different meanings. That is because one came from NewsMax, one of the most biased sites on the web. The "to" is what is known as spin. Correct, and the one's that I have seen, like the one I linked to, do not say the Russian Fleet is going "to" English Channel, but they they are going through or along or some other such word. As Yowm correctly pointed out, there is a large difference between going "to" somewhere and going "through" something.

This is from your link... "Royal Navy chiefs and their Nato allies are drawing up plans to escort up to eight Russian warships which are due to leave port imminently to join the country’s air strike campaign against Syrian rebels. " And so is this...Russia is expected to sail its only aircraft carrier through the English Channel later this month amid strained relations between London and Moscow over the Syria crisis. So yes, it's lone aircraft carrier, as in it's only one.

It was not alone. you are mistaking "alone" with "lone". Being the "lone" something does not make one alone. I could be the lone male in a room and still have 50 other people in the room with me One of the definitions of the word "lone" is sole; single; only:
