In Jesus time, would He have agreed or would He have thought this sounded like the Pharisees ? Why would worshippers need protection? If they are godly people they should welcome the lost or those who misstepped. Gently show them the wrong they do and take them under the wing and help them, teach them the way to live but to refuse them any part in the church...wrong. I cannot see Jesus turning anyone away.

Today most people tend to only read the New testament and forgot what the Lord did in the past as to the holiness of his temple.  The fear of the Lord and respect are vanishing for more liberal values so that society ways can fit into the worship of the most high God.

So two people in a church committing adultery and you pull them aside and "gently show them the wrong they do", and who continually keeps on doing the same thing, should be kept in that church unconditionally ?.  What is the pastor to do then, just sit by and let it persist.  No , a man who has taken the office of high priest has to act according to the biblical standards.

Remember why Israel was not allowed to enter into the promise land and had to wait.  It was a penalty for disobedience.. remember the holy of holies.

And do you really believe a church just willy nilly will ask people to leave.  No, it has to be serious sins, that would compromise the orderly conduct of God's business.    Yes, new or abused or homeless or mistreated need and should be nurtured and showed the love of God and for the way of salvation.  I don't think any church will deny a visitor or those seeking refuge that.  But a respect for the Lords house must be outlined to them too, so that they will learn to fear the lord and his holy ways. If they refuse, then a choice has to be made  and you give them options, and if they come back with repentance, yes willingly embrace and love them.

Oh so much to say here I know I should put in it into another  but post please bear with for a sec.  This brings up a question in my mind. As I have always thought that the church was for everyone. The Lost and the Found alike. But could it be that the church is really just for those who are not the Lost. That when the early church was set up and Paul was saying they should be doing this and that; that the reason for that was that back then  Christians  should be going out side the church and telling people how to become saved outside of the church. Instead of just sending the Lost into the church and hope that the pastor knows what to say to them to help them come to know Christ? That maybe back in Paul's day only those who were already suppose to be Saved came to the church. And the the reason for the church back then was to teach the followers of Christ how to go out side the church and bring others to know Christ.  I am by no means saying this is what all churches should be doing now. But I think it is a good question to address. Thoughts?

I am ok with a Christmas program but Churches can get way too secular.

I remember your talking about this.  Public accusations are often in need of public apologies.  So if you did this on Facebook or other public forums, you should go there and confess not only that you are sorry, but that you were probably being overly sensitive and easily hurt.  Admit that your perception may have ben wrong and that you are very sorry for the public accusation.  Then write that letter to the church and ask that it be read publicly, saying much the same as stated above and telling them you had also apologized publicly.  Ask to be restored to fellowship but also go for counseling about your sensitivity to rejection.  And ask God to heal this area of your life.  Ask Him also to fill the loneliness and void in your life with His presence to overflowing so that you may be able to give out His love to others.

Then start ministering to those who are lonely in nursing homes, orphanages and the like.  Become a big sister to a foster child.  Deliver meals on wheals to shut ins.  Clean house for someone who is incapacitated. Be a "visiting angel".  Go shopping for a shut in.  In other words, be of service to someone more needy than yourself.

Sometimes God allows us to feel rejected to force us to grow up and become dependent solely on Him to fill our needs rather than on people. It hurts to go through this growing process, but it is necessary to become mature and strong in Christ.

Perhaps you should move on to another church. Get a new start. I suppose that is what I would do.

Why is it a disservice for the Church to try to reach the lost....

Beloved, I Pray That As The Church Travels Together Through The Whole Bible

and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:15-17 (New International Version)

It Will Be Blessed By Every Pastor And Every Teacher

And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love. Ephesians 4:11-16 (New American Standard Bible)

Pointing To Jesus From Every Scripture

The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus. John 12:21 (American King James Version)

As The Good LORD Builds

Day by day, continuing steadfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart, praising God, and having favor with all the people. The Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved. Acts 2:46-47

His Church

~

Be Blessed Beloved Of The KING

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them. Numbers 6:24-27 (King James Bible)

Love, Your Brother Joe

~

Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever. Psalms 119:160 (King James Bible)

The Bible contains the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners, and the happiness of believers. Its doctrines are holy, its precepts are binding, its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable.

Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe, and practice it to be holy. It contains light to direct you, food to support you, and comfort to cheer you.

It is the traveler’s map, the pilgrim’s staff, the pilot’s compass, the soldier’s sword and the Christian’s charter. Here too, Heaven is opened and the gates of Hell disclosed.

Christ is its grand subject, our good its design, and the glory of God its end. It should fill the memory, rule the heart and guide the feet. Read it slowly, frequently and prayerfully.  It is a mine of wealth, a paradise of glory, and a river of pleasure.

It is given you in life, will be opened at the judgment, and be remembered forever. It involves the highest responsibility, rewards the greatest labor, and will condemn all who trifle with its sacred contents.

I find it strange that some here say that church is for the Christian only. If so where will the sinner hear the Word about sinners saved by the grace of God through Jesus Blood? Perhaps the bar O no, the night club..or the casino or better yet any other place you want to mention. If it were not for some who stumbled into a church and heard the gospel we may not have some the hymns we love, the written words or the missionaries. I think we are being too righteous to think the church is for the Christians like us.  God forbid that anyone be kept from crossing the door of a church and meeting his Saviour face to face and letting God use him for His honor and glory...if only to one person.

I really, really want to go back to my church I was kicked out of. I cant stop thinking about it all the time and want to know if theres anything I can do to be accepted back into that church. It was like a family to me and a home and now I just feel so empty and incomplete without being a part of that church. Do you think theres anything I can do or any chance of being accepted back into that church?

No facts, so no comment. I will pray for you.

@jashley still more questions... I'll number them to help you remember to comment on them and for us to be able to understand the situation better. Praying for you! :)

1. Would you give us more information? Is this the only church in town?

2. Why were you kicked out? Was it because you were talking about other church members online or social media?

3. Is the church open to bringing you back?

4. Why would you want to go back? Do you want to actually meet with the leadership to try to be restored to membership in this church?

5. Why not find another church? Do you have lots of family and friends in the church still?

God bless,

GE
