How can we, disciples of the Lord Jesus, learn to make a distinction and discernment between the truth and a lie? The Lord Jesus said that we will get lost if we are not familiar with Scripture (the Bible) and the power of God (the Holy Spirit). The Lord Jesus said that we are to believe in Him in accordance with the Bible. This means that we can only learn to make a distinction and discernment between the truth and a lie when we agree to walk in the Holy Spirit and believe in the Lord Jesus in accordance with the Bible.

In the present text, I will address some Bible passages which are subject to misunderstanding and false teaching. When we carefully study the passages and compare them to what the rest of the Bible teaches, we will clearly see the distinction between the truth and a lie.

As God speaks to us of the power of His Word

Hebrews 4:12 (KJV)

[12] For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

As this is centrally what we are speaking of ... I dare say That The Holy Spirit and Living Word (represented for this place and time for objective reason written Word) are inseparable... So trying to place one's weight upon one or the other and not both would make the arrival to acceptance unto The Father through The Son impossible... thus so clearly seen when Jesus placed the mantle of The Godhead upon Himself for the world to see in His temptation recorded.... as Lucifer endeavored to overcome The Son in Spirit through material (created essence)-> The Son overcame by OT Scripture forming a tutelage for us in all foundational ways of overcoming our adversary!   Love, Steven
