As I do.  These wonderful people were so brave and full of courage. God Bless them.

Small world, when my unit got back from Afghanistan she spoke at the base theater. She was in her eighties and I remember she said she still danced. There was a TV movie about her once, Mengel was especially fond of Madam Butterfly as I recall. This guy was really sick and those protein experiments were perhaps eugenetics at it's worst.

I'm sorry to hear she's gone, one of my soldiers insisted on sticking around to give her a hug, it was like 45 minutes but he patiently waited. You just don't meet people like that everyday.

Thats cool that you got to meet her and hear her story. Sadly these stories will fade into obscurity and the lessons about the holocaust will be forgotten.

I have met two holocaust survivors. Had the tattoos. They did not want to talk about their experience at all.

I worked for five opthalmologists, all Jews so the patient list was 99%Jewish and I loved them all.

One sweet tiny lady, with her tattoo crudely etched into her right wrist, had been part of those experiments. She was just a child and they took her to do eye experiments. They took the white of the eye and stitched it on what they thought was the iris, to see if the iris would change color. No, it didn't because the iris is deeper in the eye.

Thankfully her sight was good and she had no eye troubles but my God, what a testimony she had.

I went to the Yad Vashem, Holocaust museum in Israel, the evil that was done to innocents was shocking and mind numbing. Everyone had tears going through this place....I was there one hour but still needed a month to go see it all and absorb all the stories told from survivors.

Even something so evil sheds His glories in those who survived. I'm sure God has a Special reward for His people who endured such horrors.

Maranantha, come Lord Jesus!
