So I have been seeking God and asking him what it is that he is calling me to do? What is it that I am suppose to be?  I keep getting this feeling that my time has not come yet. I keep feeling like I am being prepared for what it is I will be doing. It feels like all the stuff I have gone through both the good and the bad. Have been God's way of preparing me for what he wants me to be. I'm just not sure.

God's will and God's timing must go together to be successful. Keep praying and listening for His voice and He will show you what He has for you. I've been told that when it's time you'll have a peace about it.

Where do you get that in scripture?

I can relate.

Yes often God takes us through prepatory experiences fitting us for that future work, problem is we often think that 'work' is something big and bashing but often it is a quiet unnoticed faithful work.

Good point, in fact, maybe its the preparatory experiences that is the "work".

Here is one example.

He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

Nope nothing like it . Try again. That has nothing to do with Gods timing in your life.

What is a quite unnoticed quiet work? I never heard of that?

You can be sure of one thing.  Sharing the Gospel and bringing souls to Christ does not required any special revelation, since that is already in Scripture. And all Christians are to be involved.

As the Lord has said

Romans 11:33 (KJV)

[33] O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

[34] For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counseller?

[35] Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?

[36] For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

Our responsibility is to grow in The Lord and through obedience and Worship God will accomplish His Will in us... it is in the peace of living for God that peace resides in His performing His perfect Will in us... as we walk daily in feeding upon His Word, prayer, working out our salvation in hands feet an mouth, He will have His Way with us...
Love, Steven
