Eating snow is fine so long as it hasn't been polluted yet.

I've lived in both hot and cold countries. I suspect the grass is always greener.

I also think you are less in danger of life in the hot than in the cold.

Sorry, simplejeff.  I am sure I would not like to be caught in a blizzard like people in the USA do.  I know recently there was some sort of Arctic weather through central USA.  I would not wish it on anyone.  I should have thought about it a it more.  I shall consider myself chastised.

The heat is pretty harsh - depending on the humidity though.

For sure, high 30's C in Japan with high humidity was more unbearable than 40's in dry Aust.

Well, for the first time this winter, I'm going to have to moan and groan about the cold.  It's in the 30s down here in Houston and I'm NOT going outside.  Ugh!
