Based on their website, walking is now allowed.

3. Walk your child from home to the front doors and into the foyer area.

Walkers
If you walk from your home, and you and your child will be walking home from school (and not using any other mode of transportation), there will be a designated walking gate that opens to Clubhouse Circle. Please enter through this gate for the safety of all.  Please have the car visor tag you received at Meet the Teacher Night for pick up. If you do not have a tag, please bring a photo ID to the front office and we will issue a car tag.

The article is from nine months ago- any update on this situation?

My apologies for not catching that.

Perhaps what OOTS posted is a new change after parent complaints? After all, parents were reporting they were threatened with a trespassing arrest.

I've not found an update to this story.

Typically property able to be accessed by sidewalk or parking lot on a public school campus is considered public property. However, an administration can enact laws that make it private,as they apparently did in this case.

This months old story needs an update. Parents being arrested for securing their child's safety by walking them to school should be immoral. But since it's apparently illegal in this part of Magnolia Texas, it is nothing a class action suit by the parents won't help to assuage.
